Build GT 2019

March 2, 2019

Build GT is an annual hackathon in which participants are simply tasked to build anything within a twelve hour timeframe. This event was unique in that most hackathons tend to be focused on Computer Science students doing coding challenges hosted by companies, whereas this event was building oriented and much more casual.

My teammates and I designed, built, and programmed an LED spectrum analyzer. It listens to music via a microphone and uses an Arduino microcontroller board to create a cool light show in response to different musical patterns. Specifically, I planned the implementation of the Digital Fourier Transfer algorithm on the Arduino to recognize different types of music and worked to integrate the hardware and software together in an aesthetically pleasing enclosure.
